Hotel Louis C. Jacob on the Elbchaussee opened its doors with a new face in May 2016, following a successful renovation phase lasting only 7 days. The intensive consultation and preparation phase made it possible for the actual renovations to be completed in a very short time and without disturbing the normal operation of the hotel.

Now the hotel’s discerning guests will find the bar, the reception hall and the restaurant in a new and yet familiar look. In all areas, the existing interior has been combined with sensitively coordinated colours and elegant, comfortable furniture, creating a contemporary yet timeless ensemble. New furniture, as well as a selection of the existing furniture, was upholstered with choice, high-quality fabrics. These include the occasional sofa glowing in bottle green or lavender.

The existing lighting concept has also been improved. Accents have been provided to the previously relatively uniform illumination, using new lighting fixtures or additional ones. In addition to a large number of new wall lights, the vintage chandeliers were fitted out with small shades.

The harmonious composition of style, proportions, material, colours and lighting creates a fresh, yet dignified, atmosphere that fits into the existing noble facilities, listed as a historical landmark, without dominating them.
