After the former, historic ballroom was destroyed by the Elbe’s flood of the century, a modern multifunctional hall with a sophisticated lighting concept was to be created. The challenge was to combine the historic building fabric with the modern demands of a multifunctional hall. The lighting concept allows for a wide variety of lighting settings for different uses – from ball atmospheres to brand presentations, everything is possible.

For the foyer and the multifunctional hall, a carpet with a parquet structure was newly developed reminding of the historic parquet.

The Oak Bar was created out of the client’s desire to “transport” the famous Oak Bar from the Plaza Hotel in New York to Dresden. With great attention to detail, the individual elements were translated and manufactured. The chairs were replicated in Italy, the lights were handcrafted by Gürtler and even traces of use were applied to the walls with elaborate surface techniques.
